Plan a day out
Six simple steps from “where shall we go?” to your first stamp. Start by finding a farm or a town.
Step by step
1
Open the wine routes map and choose one area. Staying on one route means less driving and more tasting.
2
That is plenty for a relaxed day. Tap “Add to wishlist” on each farm so your plan is saved in your passport.
3
Opening times are on each farm page. Many tastings, cellar tours and restaurants need a booking, especially on weekends and holidays.
4
Agree on a designated driver, book a wine tour, or use a shuttle or ride-hailing service. Never drink and drive.
5
A ten-minute lesson makes a tasting more fun. Try How to Taste Wine before you go.
6
At each farm, tap “Mark as visited” for a stamp and 15 Vine Points. Do it on site for the GPS-verified seal.
Good to know
Weekdays are quieter than weekends. Harvest usually runs from about January to March, when cellars are at their busiest.
Water, sun protection, a light jacket for cool cellars, and a cooler box if you plan to buy wine.
Fees and options vary by farm, and some waive the fee when you buy. Check the farm’s website or ask when you book.
Use the spittoon, eat a proper lunch and drink water between farms. You will enjoy the last tasting as much as the first.
