Route 62 is a scenic road that runs inland between Cape Town and the Eastern Cape, roughly parallel to the coastal N2. It passes through the Cape Winelands, the Klein Karoo and a string of small towns.
The road is often called the longest wine route in the world, because tasting rooms line the road for hundreds of kilometres. Towns along the way include Robertson, Montagu, Barrydale, Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn.
Roads climb through dramatic rock formations.
Each town has its own character.
Wine, port, brandy and more along the way.
