Discover Stellenbosch — Bottelary Hills

The Bottelary Hills lie to the north-west of Stellenbosch town, where rolling hills catch breezes from both False Bay and Table Bay. On clear days, the views stretch all the way to Table Mountain.

This subroute has a relaxed, down-to-earth feel, with many family-owned farms. Above all, Bottelary is known for Chenin Blanc and Pinotage, along with fine Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon at very approachable prices.

Why visit

  • Well-priced Chenin Blanc, Pinotage and red blends
  • Family-run farms with a friendly, relaxed feel
  • Hilltop views over the Cape Flats to Table Mountain
  • Quieter tasting rooms than central Stellenbosch
