The Simonsberg mountain towers over the northern side of Stellenbosch. Across its slopes, the Greater Simonsberg subroute brings together some of the Cape’s most celebrated estates and most breathtaking views.
Deep, well-drained mountain soils and cooling breezes create perfect conditions for red wine. In particular, the area is famous for structured Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends, as well as elegant Chardonnay and Pinotage.
