Wellington is a friendly winelands town at the foot of the Hawequa Mountains. It is also the start of the historic Bainskloof Pass, one of the most beautiful mountain drives in the Cape.

The area supplies many of the country’s vine cuttings, so its connection to the vine runs deep. Today, the Wellington Wine Route is known for Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, together with a long tradition of fine brandy.
